Calling for making yoga a way of life to increase productivity, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday directed the officials to ensure fool-proof arrangements to make the International Day of Yoga (IDY) event here a grand success.
During a comprehensive review of arrangements for the yoga day celebrations here being attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 21, he said the officials should allot compartments as per participants being routed through Ward Secretariats. He wanted steps to avoid traffic confession.
Naidy said a mock yoga session should be conducted on June 20 and explore bringing some of the participants from the neighbouring areas with lodging and boarding arrangements.
Earlier, the Chief Minister visited the beach road, Rushikonda, Andhra University and GITAM deemed to be university grounds where yoga sessions are planned.
The government is aiming to achieve a Guinness Book of World Records by mobilizing at least two lakh people to participate in the hour-long yoga session. At least two crore people are expected to participate in other parts of the State, Special Chief Secretary, Health M.T. Krishna Babu said.
